To Big Mouth ...
Every time a new issue of SnakePit has been released you complain!
Even if the new SP issue has only been released for a few weeks.
"Can't sell enough copies - Almost no one writes me an e-mail telling me what they
think about it ...".
What's the reason for you to create a new issue of SP?
Making big $$$?
Is it because you have a need for people to applaud for your work?
Or, is it because you're a fan?
If your incentive is to make a lot of $$$, I suggest you apply for a job with a large
publication (e.g. Aardschok, Metal Hammer, ...).
Then you may get a reasonable income but, be prepared to say goodbye to your independence
and be a part of a LOW quality magazine!
I know it takes A LOT of work to create a new issue everytime.
But, when others ask you if you need help or want to contribute, you respond negative ...
If there's a lack of interest in SP, how come all previous issues are sold out
and, several people still ask you regularly for back issues?
It's not because we (the readers) do not send you ranting/raving e-mails about the great quality of SP
everytime a new issue is released, we don't like what's in it!
I'm pretty sure that most readers are happy everytime a new issue is released.
Most of your readers are working adults, some with kids, you get the idea ...
Also, most of us either read more (metal) magazines or have other freetime occupations.
We don't have the time to visit/write to all kinds of forums/people just telling what
we think about the latest release of this or that ...
BTW, ever thought about:
1. The low coverage you advertise for SP?
There are 1000nd's of heavy metal metal related websites where you could advertise
FOR FREE about SP and thus enlarge your reader potential.
2. Not that I find 5 euro too much but, for less than that, you can get a full colour
magazine (Aardschok costs 4.20 euro/issue).
Yes, I know it includes shipping costs ...
3. The overkill of metal related fanzines today!
Most of 'em are of low to average quality.
Yours is one of the very few I really like to read, hence the quality of SP!
Hint:
The fact that all these bands/musicians are willing to do an interview with all
these fanzine writers shows how hard THEY've got to become recognized!
... and you complain about a lack of responses when a new issue of SP has been released!!!!!!??????
So, Big Mouth, stop the whining and start working on a new issue of Snakepit!
(and not only for non-European readers!!!)
