According to Uli's latest newsletter, he will be playing this August with the Scorpions at Wacken alongside Michael Schenker! You guys are very lucky, I just hope the performance is taped.

Yes, I already heard that. Great news. I'm sure they'll record it... Most of the bigger Wacken gigs get recorded. Not all of them are released, but if the gig works out fine, I guess they'll release it.
Actually I hope so, because I won't be able to make it to Wacken this year for the first time since 1997, since my parents are having their Golden Wedding on that weekend.

O man, that is a once in a lifetime thing, if it materializes. You know, Michael with his record of last-minute cancellations and strange behaviour. And there's another thing: I seriously doubt whether the inflated, commercial megacircus that the Wacken festival has become in the past five years is the right place for this performance. Bang Your Head 2006 would have fitted the bill so much better...

I also seriously doubt, that the Wacken-audience is a Scorps-audience. Most of the people there will not be able to honour what's happening, just because of their age...in this regard BYH would definitely have been the better choice...
