This is the third official newsletter for ProgPower Europe 2010 this year, today we announce the 2 headliners for the 12th edition of ProgPower Europe.


SHADOW GALLERY announced today that they will be the headliner on Saturday, October 2nd at ProgPower Europe 2010. After the successful release of “Digital Ghosts” in November 2009 via InsideOut Records, the band is set to bring their epic progressive rock music to the stage.



SHADOW GALLERY, known purely as a studio band until this point, has released 6 albums while the members juggled other music-related jobs and careers with their recordings. After the lost of their original singer MIKE BAKER in October 2008 due to a sudden heart attack, the band vowed to honor their fallen band mate and the fans who loved him by moving forward. They found singer BRIAN ASHLAND who stepped in to add his own graceful style to “Digital Ghosts”.



In their upcoming performance at ProgPower Europe, the band will play selections from “Digital Ghosts”, as well as music from all of their previous releases. Guitarist Gary Wehrkamp states, “I have known Rene Janssen from ProgPower Europe a long time and am thrilled that we are going to play our debut European date at his event. The band is enthusiastic to perform in the Netherlands this coming fall. We anticipate a great time and are eager to meet so many friends from this part of the world face to face as we bring the music of Shadow Gallery to the stage”.











Headliner on Sunday 3 October will be JON OLIVA’S PAIN, who will make their return at ProgPower Europe after their excellent performance back in 2007. Christopher Kinder, drummer of JOP says “Wow...it is with obvious energy and enthusiasm that we are offered the opportunity to headline this killer festival once again. We will arrive ready and eager to satisfy all JOP/Savatage fans. Holland is JO's favorite country as we are always forced to hit the coffee shop before the beginning of every tour! We will spend much time planning this tour. The setlist will be reviewed many, many times so that we can bring the very best of the past and the present to everyone. Thanks again to Rene and all his staff for this warm and very appreciative invitation. And as he said...we will not disappoint! Cheers one and all...our FESTIVAL is coming to your stage soon.”

Dem kann ich mich nur anschließen. Zur "Not" fahre ich aber auch in die Niederlande

ist doch gerade erst bestätigt

aber kann natürlich sein, dass die Exklusivität für das Festival gefordert haben, schließlich will man ja auch seine Tickets an den Mann oder die Frau bringen

das Festival ist aber bei Venlo, also zumindest direkt an der deutschen Grenze

Daher ist es für mich auch nicht so weit etwas über 300 Km. Da dann auch noch in luxusburg getankt wird halten sich die Spritkosten in einem erträglichen Rahmen...

Shadow Gallery wären schon geil und Baarlo ist nicht mal weit von Düsseldorf weg. Mich stört nur dass ich die restlichen Bands außer Jon Olivas Pain nicht mal vom Namen her kenne aber der Eintritt 60 Euro beträgt.

Mir sind Shadow Gallery fpr den 15.10. angeboten worden. Was meint ihr würden sie ziehen? Es gibt max, 3 Deutschland Shows und ich weiss nicht ob ich es machen soll, zumal die Woche danach HOD 4 ist und am 8.10. Vicious Rumors, im moment tendiere ich eher es sein zu lassen...Meinungen?

Hm, schwer zu sagen. Zwei Veranstaltungen davor. Da kann der Geldbeutel schon knapp werden. Aber ne Frage wie hoch etwa wird der Eintrittspreis sein? Der 15.10 ist ein Freitag von daher günstig. Zudem wo finden die anderen zwei Gigs statt?

Denke mal es sind genug Fans da die schon ewig auf diese Band warten.

bei nur drei Gigs in D würde ich es machen, wenn nicht einer davon im Colos-Saal in Aschaffenburg ist.

Ich würde kommen - SHADOW GALLERY live ist doch das, wovon ordentliche Prog-Metal-Fans seit 1992 träumen!

Im Moment sieht es eher so aus, dass wir es nicht machen.

Schade. Am richtigen Wochentag (also SA) würde ich dafür wohl auch nach Würzburg fahren, wenn sie nicht näher spielen.

ja, das steht eigentlich oben schon. An dem WE kann ich eh nicht, von daher müssen sie auch gar nicht kommen.... sollen sie doch weiter auf Dampfern spielen.

Ich denke dass die Band auch in der eher "softeren" Prog-Rock Szene nen Namen hat und dadurch dass sie halt noch nie hier war schon ziehen würde. Kommt aber natürlich wie immer zum großen Teil auf die Umstände (Termin, Gage etc.) an..
