Yeah I know, I got like 10-15 people over at the Corroseum crying on my shoulder for vinyl. Unfortunately, since I'm sure I cannot sell more than 50 LPs at maximum, I'm not even going to entertain such idea, sorry.

I'm sure you would sell a pressing of 500... Especially with artworks like that...

I think you mistake "move" with "sell". I probably can MOVE 500 if I trade for every vinyl release out there, but if I sell only the limit would be 50 at best. And since I do not sell vinyl at my distro, trades are out of the question, so...

Look at Shadow Kingdom, they almost bankrupted by trying to accommodate vinyl requests. You can get away with vinyl releases in Europe and sell quite a lot at places like the KIT boerse, but releasing vinyl in USA when you have to order the pressing from Europe and then 95% of the orders will be going back to Europe is really crazy.

And what about cooperating with other labels? For example, if IRON KODEX or METAL COVEN would be interested in releasing one of your CD releases on vinyl, would something like that be possible?

You see, technically it is possible. Unfortunately so far I've only gotten offers like "Hey man, let us make 500 LPs and we'll give you back 25 as a way of payment" which doesnt work with me coz in most cases I pay royalties per-sold-basis to the bands and 25 LPs would not be enough to cover for those royalties alone. And what about artwork, layout, remastering expenses I've generated, and maybe something for me too?

To be a fair deal the vinyl label need to split the artwork/mastering/layout expenses with me, cover the band royalties, AND then give me 25 LPs for my use. However, so far no label has been interested in doing that.

I take Stormspell very seriously investing a LOT of money into the releases, big percentage of which are band royalties, and a partnership with a barter labels which expect to give 25-50 free items to bands and get away with it just doesnt fit.
