Eine Decke von „Solitude“ durch Candlemass, ist Wiedergabe von „Something Wrong“ das ursprünglich ist erschienen auf dem „Unbroken Metal Tribute To Angel Witch“ und einer Demoaufzeichnung von der Titelspur.

Besides the KIT you should better think about playing on the Swordbrothers Festival for example.
In Wacken bands of your size may only play at 5 AM in front of a dozen totally drunk guys. Sad but true. Wacken is more about $$$ than Metal.

Gerade kam dieser Bericht von Heaven and Hell Records. Nicht weiter schlimm, scheint mir aber nützlich es hier zu posten.

We regretfully have to announce that the our next releases; Natu Sabverat ‘Existing to Ensure Your Destruction’, Seventh Calling ‘Prelude to Madness’, and Witches Mark ‘A Grim Apparition’ scheduled for release on Oct. 27th has been pushed back to mid-November.

The unforeseen issues were due to pressing plant problems that eventually led to stopping the projects and moving to a new company. This situation proved that sometimes going with the bigger and well known name is not necessarily the best avenue to take. However we are confident that forthcoming releases are now being handled well with the utmost attention to detail to assure they will come out quickly and to satisfaction.

Those who have placed pre-orders for the releases we thank you. We apologize for any inconvenience this delay has caused. We assure you that the wait will be worth it. Look for the releases to start shipping out the second week of November.

Okay, das Teil mitsamt Begleitbrief ist heute eingetroffen und hat bereits den Weg in den Player gefunden.
Nicht alle Songs auf dieser Witches Mark-EP wissen zu gefallen. Opener 'Salem's fire' ist mir teilweise zu eurometallisch ausgelegt. Die als Bonustracks mitgelieferten Coverversionen von 'Solitude' (Candlemass) und 'Something wrong' (Angel Witch) reichen leider in keinster Weise an die Originale heran und hätte man besser weggelassen. Dennoch sind die Tracks 'Cauldron born', 'Ethereal' und 'A grim apparition' originell, sehr intensiv und äusserst vielschichtig. Mehr dazu wenn die Arbeit - irgendwann - getan ist.

Hey guys! I am glad to hear the CD's are making their way to you finally after all of this time. My apologies for the hold up. According to our record label there was some problems at the pressing plant on the discs. Heaven and Hell Records switched to another pressing plant and that caused a two to three week delay. Anyway, that is all behind us now and we can concentrate on recording some new music. Last weekend we began pounding some drums and pounding some beers in the studio on three new songs. We hope to have something finished and ready to debut on our myspace profile by the end of December OR EARLY January!

Oh, one other thing I have forgot to mention to everyone who has purchased a disc. These are enhanced CD's; meaning if you play them in your computer you will be able to access a Heaven and Hell Records mp3 sampler of other heavy metal acts on the Heaven and Hell Roster. Pretty cool feature I suppose...

What I wrote was this:

Alright, the CD with accompanying letter arrived today and has found its way to the player already.
Not all tracks on the Witches Mark EP hit the mark. Parts of the opening song 'Salem's fire' sound too 'eurometal' for my tastes. The bonus tracks, cover versions of 'Solitude' (Candlemass) and 'Someting wrong' (Angel Witch), sadly are not on par with the originals and would've better been omitted from this release.
That notwithstanding, 'Cauldron born', 'Ethereal' and 'A grim apparition' are authentic and very intense multi-layered tracks indeed. I'll elaborate when the day's work is done.

I'd like to add the following paragraph:
Where other bands who are starting out are all too often content with producing quick-fire CDRs with half-baked material, Witches Mark take things seriously with this factory-pressed disc full of complex songs that do not take the easy road. The haunting 'Cauldron born' (a nod to Howie Bentley's legacy perhaps?) alone is full of suspense and should appeal to fans of Manilla Road, Nightmares End and other out-of-the-ordinary bands with an epic/occult slant.
