There will be a Public Memorial Service for Ronnie James Dio on Sunday, May 30th at 2:00 PM at The Hall Of Liberty located at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068.
This will be a celebration of the life and music of Ronnie James Dio and is open to all of his friends and fans from around the world.

Ja, hier auch. Hatte zwar zwischenzeitlich überlegt, mir auch mal wieder anderes Zeugs reinzuziehen, hatte dann aber doch irgendwie keinen Bock drauf.
Und Dio ist jemand, dessen Stimme auch nach mehreren Tagen einfach nicht auffem Sack geht. Haben nicht viele Sänger....

Ich hatte von Sonntag morgen bis Dienstags ebenfalls nur Alben von RAINBOW, BLACK SABBATH und DIO gehört. Ich war selbst etwas überrascht, dass ich so kurz nach der Nachricht noch in der Lage war, mir Ronnies Stimme anzuhören. Nachdem ich dann aber am Dienstag Geezers Nachruf gelesen, war ich nicht mehr in der Lage Songs von Ronnie zu hören. Gestern hatte ich kurz "Children Of The Sea" aufgelegt, musst aber nach einer Minute abbrechen, da die Trauer noch zu tief sitzt.

@Protestaktion: Die Welt ist krank. Kann mich diesbezüglich nur wiederholen.

Ach sicher. Der gute Onkel Dio wird uns auch weiter Kraft und (neuen) Mut geben, er wird einem auch weiterhin ein Schmunzeln über die Lippen zaubern..

Nachdem ich dann aber am Dienstag Geezers Nachruf gelesen, war ich nicht mehr in der Lage Songs von Ronnie zu hören.

Ganz ehrlich, irgendwie bereue ich es im Nachhinein, dass ich das gelesen habe. Ich konnte mich danach stundenlang auf nichts anderes mehr konzentrieren. Und ich habe seit Sonntag zwar auch nur Alben mit seinem Gesang gehört, aber nicht wirklich viel... das geht bei mir gerade nur sporadisch.

Ever since the first time I heard his royal roar back in the 70's, I have been fascinated by this extremely talented man's creative force and dedication to music. His career has been going on for so long and includes so many great songs, that it was a challenge to decide which songs and what era to focus on. I ended up focusing on the DIO era”.

The album also includes an original song for which a videoclip, shot by Thomas Tjader (Pretty Maids, In Flames) was produced. Jorn says “I wrote 'Song for Ronnie James' as a tribute and a personal thanks to the man who has been my mentor for more than 35 years. This great man has affected my life and career in such a way that without his presence, I would not have become the artist I am today”.

Either as front man in German metal act Masterplan, which has achieved great success around the world, or as guest in spectacular projects such as Tobias Sammet’s “Avantasia”, or in the Allen / Lande’s releases, Jorn Lande is today a trademark for quality Hard Rock music. “Dio” is the new chapter in Jorn’s history and a sincere and heartfelt “thank you” to a great and influential Artist.
