My Metal Brother, at the risk of giving you too much information, i would like to tell you a couple of things about the live CD. first off, there are almost no live recordings with the original line up, it was a different era, without
internet, mp3s, ipod etc.the live JD songs came from the only unreleased live that i could find, it was not a real recording or even a board mix, it was a monitor mix from a cassatte tape that was out of phase and had some gaps in the songs, where the monitor guy forgot to turn it on or off. To keep it as true as possible, i found spots in the songs where i could replace the gaps, no over dubs, execpt to increase the crowd noise as there was very little that was picked up by the monitor mix and the actual crowd noise was much louder than i made it. I worked for almost 1 year in my studio to make this as listenable as possible without cheating and adding new parts. recording it, eq,ing and re-recording it over and over until it was listenable. i have released it on my own label, all at my own cost, the sad fact is that Omen has sold many records and i have never received one penny in record royalites, in fact Metal Blade says that i owe them money for Battle cry, and we spent almost nothing on it. For me to keep doing what I love more than anything in the world (Omen) i needed to find a way to make at least a little money on the music. yes,i printed the covers myself, had the Cd,s burned by a small Mfg. (this is why there is not a serial number on them) put together the cd, and had them shrink wrapped. The quality may not be as good as a major label, but it will improve with every pressing as I put all of the money back in to the music. i hope that this sheds some light on things, i try my hardest to make things as good as possible for the fans, without them Omen would have been forgotten long ago.Kenny
