Wenn eine Trackingnummer existiert, einfach einen Nachforschungsauftrag stellen.
Danach verläßt das Päckchen auch relativ zügig das Zollamt.

Das ist zumindest meine Erfahrung, ob es aber immer "erfolgreich" ist, kann ich nicht garantieren.

Für eine USA-Sendung (dazu noch über die Weihnachtstage) ist das aber noch absolut im Normalbereich. Kein Grund, da jetzt schon mit dem Schlimmsten zu rechnen.

So lange dauert das inzwischen beim Helle ?

Die NitA ist ja so klasse, läuft seit über einer Woche im Auto und ich krieg sie gar nicht mehr raus...

Yeah, the tracking numbers on priority packages are mostly useless once the package leaves USA. It is very annoying, I know.

Saturia: I'm really sorry to hear your package hasnt arrived yet. The one positive thing is, I do not have a lost package to Germany yet. Although some took a long time (6-8 weeks) getting though German customs. The record was a package sent to Helle Mueller which took close to 9 weeks... I have absolutely no idea why some packages get caught, and other not. I think the smaller priority boxes (the ones which can fit up to 15 cds w/o jewel cases) get through fine, so I'm trying to use those as often as possible.

Anyhow, please if you can, take the tracking number to your local postal office and request to be tracked - if it is stuck at the German customs this can speed it up. I'd gladly do it from here, but US postal services cannot do much once it is outside USA.

And of course, I will replace the order if it doesnt show up after 6 weeks from the mailing date! I'll see to it, no worries about that!

Thank you, so i will wait. I hope i have the CDs to Eastern. This is the first time i must wait more than 3 weeks.
But ist's verry good for me that's no parcle lost in germany.

Wow, almost 6 weeks for airmail... German postal offices are trying to break the world record for slowest delivery, currently held by Italian posts

Still I'm very glad the package finally made it.

Oh, I am not sure that this was really the fault of the german postal offices, as the german post is indeed very fast, compared to other countries.

Blame it on the customs.

Yes, apparently the package was stuck at Leipzig customs and when Saturia called, they told her it takes between 6 weeks up to 3 months to clear packages (!)... while when asked the same question to Frankfurt customs, they said two weeks... Those Leipzig customs must be operated by Bulgarian gastarbeiters, haha!

Funny thing is, when a package lies at the customs for more than 2 weeks, you have to pay daily fees.

Yes i called with the Customes Heidelberg for my letter. First theire gave me the tip for seaching with the Post. I must a little lie and say i have lost the message from the customs and the post must me made a copie from the message. So the Post must seach in theire system for the USA Trackingnumber. The Customs say the post can search but theire wan't to made this work.
Than the Lady from the Customs said Frankfurt is a Running Horse and Leizig is a "german worth" Schnecke. i don't know the english worth)
