The Restless Breed "Mr Grey Regrets"

He left his rat race at the end of the day.
Fought the rush hour, watched the sky turning grey and waited.
The empty house just served to darken his mood.
Staring blankly, barely touching his food, deflated.
He spent the long, dark night not sleeping.
Another cold, grey night just weeping.

Take me away. Take me away from here.
Take me away. Take me away from here.

A thought was forming in the back of his mind;
perhaps there was a way he'd finally find salvation.
He saw it clearly like a beckoning light;
perhaps this was a way he'd finally fight isolation.
He'd lived a life without direction.
Alone, ignored, starved of affection

Take me away. Take me away from here.
Take me away. Take me away from here.

Mr Grey regrets...the worthy promise broken.
Mr Grey regrets...the words of love unspoken.
Mr Grey regrets...the times he's been mistaken.
Mr Grey regrets...the paths of life not taken.

Mr Grey regrets...all the days of sadness and dejection.
Mr Grey regrets...all the months of heartache and rejection.
Mr Grey regrets...all the years of trying to hide the faking.
Mr Grey regrets...all the times he's given without taking.
Mr Grey regrets.

He'd spent forever trying to hold back the tears.
Those bitter memories of all of the years he'd wasted.
But now, perhaps, they might remember his name.
A bitter pill would be the closest to fame he'd tasted.
They found him in the morning, dead.
He clutched a blood-stained note which read:-

Take me away. Take me away from here.
Take me away. Take me away from here.
Take me away. Take me away from here.
Take me away. Take me away from here.

Schöner Thread!

Aktueller denn je:

SKYCLAD - Salt on the Earth (Another Man's Poison)

Out of the East a prince shall rise
To summon fire from the skies.

I'm lord of this wasteland - where my word is law
My bedfellows pestilence, famine and war
Turn children to orphans - make wives into widows
Then laugh at your plight behind bullet-proof windows
With swords made of "Black Gold" the world is my whore
I've all you could wish for yet still I want more.

Out of the East the prince shall rise.

They are the victims (the ones who survived)
To bury their families along with their pride
Forgotten, forsaken, defenceless and lost
They count their blessings whilst counting the cost.
All they can do is pray that his greed shall destroy him
But meanwhile they choke on another man's poison.

Should we turn our cheeks so the mad and the twisted
May strike us again 'cus we never resisted?
They'll slaughter our allies - invade all our neighbours
Then when they come here there'll be none left to save us...

Then we'll be the victims - the ones who must fight
Bury our families and our human rights
To the hands of a madman all liberty lost
He'll reap the rewards while The Earth pays the cost
Spill oil on troubled waters - believe yourself divine
By calling it an "act of war" you cover up the crime.
Sblood, thou stinkard, I’ll learn ye how to gust … wolde ye swynke me thilke wys?

den hier find ich gut :)

TOXIK - There Stood The Fence

There stood the fence that penned me in when I was younger
This was the house where we all stayed
There was a tree we used to hang out under
This was the place where I played
But now that's gone so I have to wonder
Is it worth the price we pay?
A long range test has put us under
And made us go away, go away...

This was the town where all my friends and I had grown up
The only place I've ever known
A long gray street with some houses built on it
Less than perfect but it was home
Now it's gone and I curse it in my darkness
This is the cross I have to bear
We pay the price of our own injustice
We made us go nowhere
Go nowhere, nowhere

This was our earth our garden of eden
Took what we could and left her there bleeding
And what became of the hopes and the dreams
Did they die with us 'cause that's how it seems
Here comes the rain can't you taste the acid?
Or has it left you numb?
This is the moral to the story I offer
Can you hear me son...
Or have you gone away
Away
Away

- Cirith Ungol "I'm Alive"
- Motörhead "1916"
- Bathory "Song To Hall Up High"
- Bathory "Hammerheart"
"It takes a thousand fans from any other band to make one Manowarrior!"
- Sir Dr. Joey DeMaio, 2012

For all the words unspoken, for all the deeds undone,
for all our shattered dreams, for all the songs unsung,
for all the lines unwritten and all our broken hearts,
for all our wounds still bleeding and all our kingdoms come.

Ja, David DeFeis ist auch ein Meister der Feder.

Legendäres Konzeptalbum mit Tiefgang. Atmosphärisch dicht gestrickt. Muss ich auch mal wieder auflegen. Ist da eigentlich der Re-Release schon draussen?

They say I look like the living dead
They say I can't have much in my head
They say my songs are much too slow
But they don't know the things I know

I know I don't belong
And there's nothing I can do
I was born too late
And I'll never be like you
Sblood, thou stinkard, I’ll learn ye how to gust … wolde ye swynke me thilke wys?
