Auch wenn Du die letzte Death Angel doch tatsächlich als "totale Scheiße" bezeichnet hast (SCHÜTTEL), hier sind wir uns auf jeden Fall einig.

Letztendlich unterschreib ich jetzt mal alle Kritiken, die in die Richtung "Is zwar keine zweite Nightfall, aber geil isse trotzdem" gehen.

"King Of The Grey Islands" ist ein gottverdammtes Meisterwerk geworden. Das Ding braucht Zeit, und zwar viel Zeit, dann kommt man davon aber nicht mehr los. Weiß momentan nicht mal, ob ich sie nicht doch noch besser als die neue DoomSword finde.
Und der Text zum Quasi-Titeltrack "Emperor Of The Void" wird dieses Jahr wohl nicht mehr getoppt werden:

Habe nicht viel Zeit gebraucht und bin total begeistert. Ãœberlege gerade ob ich meine Antipathie gegen die YPS-Versionen von Nuclear Blast ablege und mir das Dosen-Teil zulege. Das Teil verdient einfach in der Sammlung hervorzustechen.

"King Of The Grey Islands" ist ein sehr gutes Album geworden. Besser als das IMO nur mäßig interessante Comeback. Ich mag sogar den merkwürdigen Gitarrensound. "Emperor Of The Void", "Man Of Shadows" und "Embracing The Styx" sind die Highlights für mich. Die Neueinspielung von "At The Gallows End" gefällt mir auch sehr, "Solitude" eher weniger.
