Wer nicht wagt, der nicht gewinnt. Wenn das ein Killergig wird, dann freuen sich eh alle und gratulieren dir zu deiner Risikofreude. Ich bin auf jeden Fall gespannt und schau der Sache ziemlich gelassen entgegen. Das wird schon!

we are happy to announce the first infos for our second HAMMER OF DOOM Festival. The headliner will be the american Doom legend TROUBLE. Here is the billing so far:

Wie wär´s denn noch mit den Malteser Jungs von Forsaken? Deren neue Platte hat gerade einem lange verloren geglaubten und in seichte Gefilde verirrten ehemaligen Metall-Fanatiker (guter Kumpel von mir) den Staub aus den Knochen geklopft. Live sicher auch mächtig...

Legendary Chicago doomsters TROUBLE are hard at work on material for the band's long-awaited new album, "The Dark Riff", tentatively due later in the year. The group states, "Everything is moving along nicely in the writing stage. Bruce [Franklin; guitar] and Rick [Wartell; guitar] have brought some massive, killer riffs to the sessions that are sure to please ANY TROUBLE fan.

"The sessions are proving to be a very creative environment, and are spawning the band's creative juices where every last riff seems to get heavier than the last.

"As of this date the music for fourteen songs is complete. The vocals are coming in a bit at a time and sounding incredible.

"The band seems to be clicking on all cylinders now, and there's no end in sight.

"This is definitely going to be worth the wait!"

A previous post on the group's web site stated: "As you can tell by the [new album's] title, IT'S HEAVY! The band is resorting to the root of what made TROUBLE in the first place and what they are best at, DOOM! This will no doubt be the heaviest TROUBLE release since the mid-'80s when they crushed the masses with what is now known as 'Psalm 9' and 'The Skull'."

Man möchte ja nicht für einen Einwohner von Nörglerstadt gehalten werden, aber irgendwie klingt das für den Trouble-Fan als müssten Rick Wartell und Bruce Franklin mit dem Sprung in die Vergangenheit den Verlust von the one and only Eric Wagner kompensieren.
Und man ahnt wie das kommen wird: das Material wird heavy sein wie der Titel verspricht und ich für meinen Teil werde trotz allem nur denken können 'Solch edles Doomzeug ohne die Stimme die dazu gehört, das ist noch trauriger als die Atmosphäre auf The skull.
