EXACTLY(!) what I thought! The verses are great, the melodies are great, but a good chorus is missing all the way.

Well, because this is called "demo vocals" I really hope the final version will be even better in the chorus!

Oh, I never heard about a "demo-chorus" before :-D

Good song, but a real chorus would really take it to a higher level, imo.

The song (especially the lead guitar) also reminds me of ´The Phantom Of Black Hand Hill´.

I said "demo" more in a sense of a test recording. Otherwise, BLACKBEARD is the one and only song on the album that doesn't feature an actual chorus. But it works well without one, somewhat similar to "Kiss Of Death" and "The Privateer" which none of them have chorus either.

I thought I have given you the run-down of the album already, but just in case I haven't, here it is once again:

1. Intro - We don't have a name for this one yet, though it would be
definitely something RW related, like "Black Chest Inn" or something.

2. Return To Port Royal - the speedy opener of course. Crunchy and fast just like RW used to cut them in the good old times.

3. Stand Your Line - quite good rocker with catchy chorus and the ordinary fist pumping lyrics.

4. Amistad Rebellion - this one reminds a lot about "Conquistadores," but with a unique chorus. It is based on a historical event about a slaver ship mutiny. Probably the pilot single we'll be using to promote the album

5. High Treason - another fast power-cruncher in the style of "Marooned/Phantom Of Black Hand Hill." Another possibility for pilot single

6. The Curse Of The Ghost Ship - this song is basically the answer to RW's "Powder & Iron"

7. Blackbeard - this is actually the only song that doesn't feature an actual chorus. But it works well without one, somewhat similar to "Kiss Of Death" and "The Privateer" which doesn't have choruses either.

8. Wind in the Sails - another speedy scorcher in the vein of "Tortuga Bay." Pure crunchy headbanging delight

9. The Tale of Vasa - THE Epic finale of the album. Somewhat similar to "Treasure Island," great diverse song with fast parts, majestic "Jens Becker" bass harmonies, spoken part, epic middle section, and furious finale of pure undiluted glory leaving you gasping for more!

F@#k! Cannot wait to hear this thing finished!

No chorus? In my opinion this is the chorus:

His allseeing spy-glass is aiming at the sea
No mariner has the slightest chance to flee
His crystal ball's revealing where he has to steer
He fights the covered evil without a fear
Oh, the privateer

I would agree, if someone says it's bridge and chorus, but in this case, the bridge is just like a very good chorus :smile2:

Nevertheless, Blackbeard is a cool song and I am looking forward for the whole record. :yeah:

Iordan, would be cool, if you could do the BLAZON STONE Logo in the old RW vein, including the ornaments like shown above :-D

I pretty much agree with that comment. Love the sound, riffs, leads and the voice. The hooks are cool enough, too. And if it's the only song without a real chorus, I can pretty much deal with that.

That'll be one of the rare cases, where I won't give a shit about being original.

I guarantee you this is the only song without chorus. There are plenty of choruses on the rest of the songs to keep even the most demanding fans happy, I hope.
