Und dieser Tage wird es schon wieder angekündigt. Glaube, dass bei Voices from the Darkside gelesen zu haben. Also dass das Album noch erscheinen wird und dann soll Schluss sein. Auch sinnlos.


Und hier, mal wieder Südamerika: DEATHLY SCYTHE aus Chile. Death Metal, wie er vor vll. 25 Jahren typisch war, wenn man tief genug buddelte und komplett pervers war. Die ultrakämpferische Aggression ist schon geil, muss man erstmal aufbringen. Ich muss an Totten Korps, Asphyx (in schnell), Atomic Aggressor, Immolation, Necrovore... denken. Gibt bisher ein Demotape namens "Will of Death", welches ich leider nicht besitze. Demnächst erscheint eine Split EP (auch als Tape glaub ich) mit den ebenfalls aus Chile kommenden Black Metal Krawallos HORDA (deren beide Demos derb umbringen!) bei Proselytism. Seit ein paar Tagen ist ja nun der Zweitling von KRYPTS auf dem Markt, soll hier nicht unerwaehnt bleiben! Wie das Debut wabbert und ekelt sich ´feinster Death Metal ueber die volle Albumlaenge, richtig guter stuff!






Ansonsten bleibt nur noch zu erwaehnen das ich mir zeimlich sicher bin das dass nun ENDLICH bald kommende VENENUM Album wohl so ziemlich alles kaputt machen wird was 2017 sonst noch so zu bieten haben wird!!!

PS: F. Kommandöh, das naechste Mal wenn ich in Erfurt bin will ich mit dir Bier trinken und die neue SI/Pentacle Split in Dauerschleife hoeren! Der Gig am Montag in Nuernberg war KILLER!

Leider wirklich nur quasi. Prinzipiell mag ich die Art von stumpfem und schiebendem Death Metal total, aber naja...
Die Gitarren sind halt nicht so zwingend und der Drummer ist leider gar nicht gut. Wundert mich, warum da niemand eingegriffen hat

Between the two records, Possession's name was already on the tongues of legions worldwide - which is all the more remarkable considering their canon, to that point, consisted of six songs. Alas, in 2015 arrived the 1585-1646 mini-album. The band's longest work to date at 25 minutes, 1585-1646 studiously explored more concerted lyrical themes, marrying the conceptualism of the Anneliese EP to a still-unfolding, still-unholy synthesis of ancient Metal of Death and the pitchest-black metal. It was the band's boldest move to date, teasing their now-rabid fanbase with greater glories to come...and now they have arrived with Exorkizein.

Effectively a summation of Possession's powers and prowess they displayed across their first three recordings, Exorkizein is the bold and brazen first-album statement that will fully write the band's name into black/death legendry. Its fury is more feral and unchained than ever, its downshifts into doom more swirling and fatal, and its recording is as rounded and robust as a highly anticipated debut requires. And yet, for however much this is all unmistakably Possession, Exorkizein marks a change in lineup: vocalist Mestema is out of the band and has been replaced by Viriakh, while S.Iblis enters as new bassist. Far from a disabling blow, this lineup shakeup has resulted in a stronger Possession than ever before, brimming with madness and mystery, slavering with sin and ever prepared to strike. The youthful discordance has slightly, subtly given way to an ageless confidence, without one sacrifice of the core ethics of authentic, deeply-felt black/death METAL.

More or less written in one year, with no stopping doing gigs, Possession's Exorkizein was recorded once again at Blackout Multimedia with Phorgath (Enthroned, Emptiness). Langsam wird's auch Zeit. Ich habe die neuen Songs schon mal in ihrer Gänze instrumental und live hören dürfen, als wir mit Venenum auf der Kunitzburg im letzten Sommer gespielt haben. Das war schon mal sehr beeindruckend, aber ich habe trotzdem keine Vorstellung davon, wie das Album werden wird. Ich hoffe, monumental und derb.
Das hier kann ich leider bisher nicht anhören, weil diese prähistorische Krücke von MacBook, die ich leihweise nutze, mit so ziemlich jedem Player ein Problem hat.

Wirklich nicht so toll, das mit Abstand Beste an der Scheibe dürfte das grandiose Seagrave-Cover sein...
Ich hab auch die ganze Zeit gewartet, dass da noch was passiert, aber das Spannendste an dem Stück sind ja noch die ersten zwei Minuten...
Ich wette, die von Bolt Thrower verworfenen neuen Songs (die unter ihrem eigenen Anspruch lagen) wären um einiges besser gewesen. Allein rhythmisch waren gerade die letzten Alben der Band auch schon deutlich interessanter als der verlinkte Song.

Verstäkt schwarzmetallische Anteile? Das trübt die Vorfreude ein klein wenig. Der Rest deiner Beschreibung macht es für mich wieder umso interessanter. Den Vorgänger fand ich schon sehr klasse, da hätte ich mir durchaus noch ein wenig more of the same gewünscht. Aber schau ma mal, das wird schon!

Ich fand die Band auf dem PartySan letztes Jahr ziemlich enttäuschend. Daher hab ich eh schon nicht mehr viel erwartet. Der Song of der RH CD hat das Ruder leider nicht ehrumgerissen. Irgendwie schade, hätte mir so gerne ein verstecktes Bolt Thrower Album gewünscht.
