DVP 172 Significant Point – Into the Storm LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present SIGNIFICANT POINT’s highly anticipated debut album, Into the Storm, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Hailing from Japan, SIGNIFICANT POINT was formed by guitarists Kazuki Kuwagaki and Gou Takeuchi in March 2011. Holding high the banner of old-school speed/heavy metal, they started playing live shows in Tokyo. Through a lot of member changes, SIGNIFICANT POINT released their first demo, Attacker!, in 2014 and the Live at Tokyo CD in 2017. In 2018, the two-song EP Attacker was released on 7” vinyl by France’s Inferno Records, and it received a good reaction in the underground scene.

Itormentor (drums) and Kazuhiro Watanabe (bass) joined in 2016 and 2018, respectively, and the current lineup of SIGNIFICANT POINT was at last finalized. In 2019, they started recording their first album. With great help from George Itoh (Risingfall / Military Shadow), it was completed in September 2020 after a year and a half of effort.

Fittingly bearing the title Into the Storm, SIGNIFICANT POINT’s debut album is indeed a monsoon of heavy metal mayhem, spanning traditional and epic styles to speed metal and even early power metal. The band live and breathe heavy metal in all its classicist forms, and the quintet know the intrinsic power of hooks and especially variety, both of which are found bountifully across Into the Storm. With enviable ease, SIGNIFICANT POINT marry masterful execution to high drama whilst never losing the importance of actual songs – in other words, no style over substance here. Truly, you will NOT be able to get any of these 10 anthems outta your head, and large credit is due to the poetic dual-guitar interplay of Kuwagaki and Takeuchi; dazzling to say the very least, their leads and solos are almost another singing voice. Which is to take nothing away from the rest of the band, who bring together melodic bass-work, tastefully propulsive drumming, and the high-pitched metal-warrior vocals of George Itoh to create a veritable orchestra of sound.

While the bulk of the lyrics are in English, the unique tonal qualities of Japanese lend Into the Storm comparisons to Loudness’ early, proto-epic metal albums like Devil Soldier and The Law of Devil’s Land. But casting one’s metallic gaze further across continents (and decades), SIGNIFICANT POINT significantly point to myriad elements of such legends as Grim Reaper, Metal Church, Sinner, Cloven Hoof, and Omen on to the culter likes of Shok Paris, Liege Lord, Sortilege, Agent Steel, and Savage Grace, all with a firm grounding in the classics of Scorpions, Rainbow, Judas Priest, UFO, and Iron Maiden. Any way you slice it, the katana of SIGNIFICANT POINT is deadly, so prepare to go Into the Storm!

DVP 173 Sandstorm – Desert Warrior MLP/MCD/MC

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present a brand-new mini-album from Canada’s SANDSTORM, Desert Warrior, on CD, 12” vinyl and cassette formats.

It was but the spring of 2020 when DYING VICTIMS unleashed SANDSTORM’s debut album, Time to Strike, onto the worldwide metal scene. Prior to that, the Vancouver-based band had self-released the album in early 2019, and while the initial run sold out quickly, it remained a diamond in the rough. But indeed, diamonds shine regardless, and soon enough did Time to Strike’s gleam reach all corners of the globe: here was glorious (and gloriously scrappy) pre-speed/thrash HEAVY METAL in the literally ancient, sword-wielding style so favored in the early ‘80s, rendered in such authentic (and authentically over-the-top) style, you’d be forgiven for thinking that this was some unearthed relic from the era. Word spread, and rightly, that SANDSTORM were the Real Deal.

And now, with the imminent release of Desert Warrior, SANDSTORM prove loudly that they are the REAL fucking DEAL! A swift-yet-generous record at 21 minutes, the four songs comprising Desert Warrior are thematically unified by classic late ‘60s / early ‘70s sci-fi tropes, and the power-trio suitably keep the focus squarely on riffs and atmosphere. Those riffs retain the same feeling as the full-length predecessor – nothing overdriven, everything moving at a hot-rockin’ pace – and where medieval magick ran riot across a strongly rock ‘n’ roll backbone, here do SANDSTORM evoke a strong sense of the epic and tragic. That Desert Warrior’s atmosphere is noticeably more moody takes nothing away from the metallic heights they reach; if anything, one could liken the mini-album to ghostly NWOBHM bordering on lonerist AOR, but still with a propensity to kick out the jams when needed. For proof, see the aptly titled “Evil Wins” and note the specter of Mercyful Fate floating nearby. Plus, the band aren’t monikered SANDSTORM for nothing: it was about damn time they did a record called Desert Warrior and made a musical mini-movie of sorts!

Still obscure and old-school as ever, SANDSTORM etch out an even more undeniable identity with Desert Warrior. Will you enter the wasteland with them?

DVP 171 Heavy Sentence – Bang to Rights CD/MC

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS and Crypt of the Wizard are proud to present HEAVY SENTENCE’s highly anticipated debut album, Bang to Rights, on CD and music cassette (DVP) as well as vinyl LP (CotW) formats.

One of the hottest propositions in the UK’s resurgent traditional metal scene, HEAVY SENTENCE have kept the emphasis on quality over quantity since their formation in the mid-2010s. Just like the early days of the NWOBHM, HEAVY SENTENCE made their recorded debut with a two-song 7” in 2017, followed a year later by another two-song 7”. Both graced with stark, gritty, but endearingly basement-level cover art, these two singles evinced an ageless verve and vivacity in stark contrast with the band’s meager years. And yet, HEAVY SENTENCE include among their ranks scene veterans who do or have done time in labelmates AGGRESSIVE PERFECTOR, Wode, Exxxekutioner, Sump, and Wóddréa Mylenstede among others, so perhaps that inherent wisdom should be no surprise…. Either way, with just four songs to their name and a clutch of raucous live gigs, anticipation has been feverish for a full-length.

At last, it arrives bearing the call-to-arms title Bang to Rights. Tight and taut at 10 songs in 37 minutes, HEAVY SENTENCE’s debut album is a well-oiled machine of absolute ANTHEMS destined for classic status. No more but certainly no less, Bang to Rights is everything HEAVY SENTENCE have been since the very beginning: deceptively energetic mid-tempo HEAVY METAL roughened up by the spectre of punk, much like (again) those early days of the NWOBHM. Of course, the band are apt to kick into a gallop from time to time, but the emphasis is always on go-for-the-throat songwriting that only street-walking cheetahs with hearts full of napalm can produce. Of course, Motörhead’s glorious works of the 1980s loom large here – from Iron Fist to Rock ‘n’ Roll, and even Another Perfect Day – but it’s HEAVY SENTENCE’s attitude and charisma which triumph over all. Equally back-alley belligerent and high-adventure fantastical, Bang to Rights is informed by early ‘80s Thin Lizzy as equally as prime Saxon, with HEAVY SENTENCE here continuing the lineal dots connecting Heavy Load, Omen, Lord Weird Slough Feg, and October 31 onward to the metalpunk revolution fostered by Midnight. In short, timeless and eternal and fucking unyielding.

A HEAVY SENTENCE is coming your way…‘Cos you are BANG TO RIGHTS!

DVP 183 Eisenhand – Fires Within LP/CD/MC

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present EISENHAND’s striking debut album, Fires Within, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

EISENHAND are a relatively new entity hailing from Austria. The band made their recorded debut in 2018 with the accurately titled Demonstration Tape and followed it with another demo, White Fortress, the following year. During that time, EISENHAND took to the stage, reveling in the raucous experience of live performance, and their two recordings to date ably captured that spirit. And while a couple of members have done time in more overtly black metal-styled bands, EISENHAND’s sound stridently recalls the pre-thrash days of heavy metal: whether the style was early power metal or belatedly-applied epic metal or simply speed metal straight from the garage, subgenre delineations matter not when faced with such stout-hearted bravado and blanching passion.

Thankfully, all that rough-hewn promise and poise spill forth across EISENHAND’s full-length debut, Fires Within. Indeed aptly titled, Fires Within absolutely brims with a fiery authenticity that’s simultaneously ancient and fresh-sounding. Moody in their melodicism, bristling with electricity at every turn, and incredibly dynamic even with their bursting-at-the-seams execution, EISENHAND weave majestic tales of the supernatural and strange that get stuck in your head even when song lengths easily slot into the five-to-nine-minute range. But the seven-track/45-minute Fires Within is simply the format it needs to be, no more and definitely no less: “Steel City Sorcery,” “Dizzying Heights” and the reprised “White Fortress” and “Ancient Symbols” are but some of those tales, each as crucial as the one before and the one to come… All is EPIC here, without being overstated about it – myth and magic and also modesty.

Names invoked include Gotham City, Bashful Alley, earliest Omen, Brocas Helm, Kat, Turbo, Magnesium, or early Slayer, as well labelmates like MEGATON SWORD, SANDSTORM, COLTRE, SOULCASTER and MIDNIGHT PREY, but on evidence of these Fires Within, EISENHAND are already on their way to lighting a new torch! Are you prepared to get burned?

DVP 184 Parish – God’s Right Hand MCD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the striking debut EP of England’s PARISH, God’s Right Hand, on CD format.

PARISH are a proto-metal power-trio hailing from London.Despite forming just a few years ago, their sound is as ancient as it comes – as in deep, WAY DEEP, into the ‘70s. Their two-song Famine, War demo in early 2019 was but a foretaste of the archaic splendor to come. At twice as many songs, four-pronged just like its simple-yet-elegant cover art, God’s Right Hand is PARISH hitting a peak enviously early in their career.

To say that the PARISH of God’s Right Hand is indebted to earliest Black Sabbath is both accurate and misleading. While just about any doom-oriented band could be likened to the almighty Sabs, PARISH’s resemblance is a literally spiritual one: their measured ‘n’ melancholic take on heavy ROCK bears an aeons-old fear of God and a pensive, even-pastoral expression of it – cranked to 11. Just witness the stomping opener “Apothecary” and the way PARISH wind the listener from the grimy backstreets all the way out to the barren countryside with mystical closer “By a Bandit’s Knife.” In between, the Sabbathian push ‘n’ pound opens up to include shades of Witchfinder General, Pagan Altar, and even Trouble. But the richly analog recording of God’s Right Hand absolutely bleeds ancient-days authenticity, and wholly whisks the listener away from any sense of modernity…

The church bells toll and the mass is to begin…head to PARISH and witness God’s Right Hand!

DVP 177 Witchseeker – Scene of the Wild LP

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present WITCHSEEKER’s highly anticipated second album, Scene of the Wild, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Hailing from Singapore, WITCHSEEKER formed in late 2012, originally as a one-man project by Sheikh Spitfire. By the time of the band’s first EP, 2014’s Night Rituals, WITCHSEEKER had expanded to a trio but was then pared back to a duo for their debut album, 2017’s When the Clock Strikes, with Brandon Speedranger on guitars and Sheikh Spitfire on vocals, bass, and drums.

While traditional metal is not often associated with Singapore, WITCHSEEKER gained the attention of their national scene with a classics-minded style of heavy metal that’s packed with power, speed, melody, and aggression. Legions have joined their cause, and over the years, WITCHSEEKER have shared stages with such bands as Firehouse, Enforcer, Destruction, Midnight, Exciter, and many more.

Come 2019, WITCHSEEKER expanded to a quartet with the joining of Aip Sinner on drums and Nick Stormbringer on guitars. With this bolstered lineup, the band then wrote and recorded their second full-length, Scene of the Wild. Aptly titled, Scene of the Wild stylistically spans Sunset Strip hot-rockin’ and classy, cruising speed metal alike, all with the finesse and deftness of devotees of all that’s timeless and true. Each of these 10 tracks in an anthem unto itself, but each one offers something equally unique. Not here will you find one big blur of sameness: “Lust for Dust” is like a runaway train, while “Nights in Tokyo” offers space, shade, and a yearning heart; “Rock This Night Away” does exactly what it says, while the title track is a ballroom blitz; “Screaming in the Moonlight” is a steady night-time strut, while “Candle in the Dark” struts to a darker, more personal pulse; and plenty more to be experienced elsewhere. Keeping things true, WITCHSEEKER don’t let proceedings get too slick, retaining a rawness of approach and authenticity of spirit, together giving Scene of the Wild a “scrappy underdog” aspect not unlike Mötley Crüe’s Too Fast for Love.

WITCHSEEKER are a promising band from a small country, just now realizing the depth of their potential. Graced with literally awesome cover art courtesy of Mario Lopez, Scene of the Wild is a vision of heavy metal revolution!

DVP-R 002 MP – Bursting Out (The Beast Became Human) LP/b]

RELICS FROM THE CRYPT, the newly founded sub-label of DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS, is proud to present a reissue of MP’s cult-classic debut album, Bursting Out (The Beast Became Human), on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Originally released in 1986 on the short-lived Steps Records, Bursting Out (The Beast Became Human) was the first recorded statement of Germany’s MP. As such, it retains all the electricity and urgency of youth. It also upholds Germany’s rich heritage of heavy metal, which spanned the early hot-rockin’ throes of post-NWOBHM to the nascent rumblings of speed metal and its subsequent thrash offshoot, and of course the more mainstream stylings which lingered across all those idioms. It was still the 1980s, after all, and “heavy metal” as both a term and especially a musical style & subculture had yet to be too finely locked into boundaries. And with a complete lack of self-consciousness and, in its stead, an abundance of enthusiasm and energy, MP ably crisscrossed all these metals on their debut album, Bursting Out (The Beast Became Human).

Indeed, aptly titled, Bursting Out (The Beast Became Human) is a measured and never-messy explosion of hooks and heaviness, headbanging and hard-driving speed. Rough and raw yet somehow refined, MP at this stage authentically conveyed a sense of literally living & breathing HEAVY METAL, and each of the 10 should-be anthems comprising their debut full-length delivered the goods, each one as different as the last but altogether unified in their all-out metalness no matter the dynamic being explored. From the locomotive thrust of the opening title track to sleazy, midnight-walking panthers like “Startide Rising” and especially “Out for Love,” from the equally sleazy blitz of “On the Loose Again” to the stand-up-and-shout strut of “Fight for Your Life” right after and concluding with the moody push ‘n’ pull of “World of Tiers,” MP covered all ‘80s-stock metal bases and then some. Naturally, the specter of national heroes Accept loomed large across Bursting Out, but the band could just as handily hold their own with the likes of Living Death, Iron Angel, and Warrant domestically and even Exciter, Abattoir, and Nasty Savage overseas. And if their seemingly odd choice of moniker left any doubt, the trio drove the point home with “MP (Metal Priests).”

MP continued on for two more albums before changing that moniker to Melting Point, the title of their 1992 album still under the MP handle. But, of course, the band’s Bursting Out debut is their most beloved album, and one that cemented MP’s status as a cult band. Experience it again – or for the first time – on vinyl again since its original release, or on CD with five live bonus tracks!

[b]DVP 178 Evil – Possessed by Evil PicLP

Dying Victims Productions is proud to present EVIL’s second album, Possessed by Evil on Picture Disc format. The release is licenced from Nuclear War Now! and will include 3 additional live tracks.

As previously demonstrated on the 2017 debut, “Rites of Evil,” as well as the demo, two live recordings, and split with Siege Column that have since emerged, these twelve tracks of black/thrash metal once again capture the darkness of first wave black metal and unite it with the aggressive precision of early Teutonic thrash. Previous points of comparison between Evil and early Sodom continue to hold true, as do those that recognize similarities with the most notorious of Japanese hardcore outfits, especially insofar as the unhinged vocal delivery is concerned. Evil is anything but apologetic in its reverence to its metal heritage, which is what lends its recordings such a high degree of authenticity. “Possessed by Evil” is an unabashed conglomerate of riffs, accentuated by incisive leads and rabidly barked vocals. If there is one notable contrast with the debut album, it would be an increased cohesiveness among the instruments. Whereas “Rites of Evil” at times felt a bit loose, the performances on this album are characterized by noticeably tighter synchronicity, which one could logically assume to be the result of the band’s greater longevity. In any case, the outcome is one that represents a step forward from an already impressive debut and one that confirms Evil among the best of its black/thrash metal contemporaries.

Picture LP with insert and poster.

DVP 179 Lucifuge – Infernal Power CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the highly anticipated fourth album of Germany’s LUCIFUGE, Infernal Power, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

For the past five years, LUCIFUGE have been perfecting an addicting style of blackened speed metalpunk, all guided by the iron fist of mainman Equinox. Starting in 2018, the one-man wrecking crew released a demo, an EP, and the Ride the Beast debut album. The next year was no less busy, with two EPs and the second album Der AntiChrist. And just last year, the full-length The One Great Curse was released and then the digital single “Infernal Power.”

The latter single proved to be a teaser for LUCIFUGE’s fourth album, also titled Infernal Power. Going from strength to strength and now expanded to a full quartet, here does Equinox take his signature sound – greasy ‘n’ galloping riffs, locomotive rhythmic (dis)charge, and twisted ‘n’ pissed vocals – and spit-shine them with the dirtiest motor oil known to man. It’s all righteously party-hardy stuff, headbanging and boozy to the bitter end, but Infernal Power palatably exudes a startling professionalism usually elusive to those flying the metalpunk banner, no doubt a result of the lineup expansion. Likewise, the EVIL is ramped up here, cobwebs of haunting melodicism draped delicately across LUCIFUGE’s no-less-crazed attack. And perhaps most interestingly, Equinox covers GISM’s “As Good As It Is,” from that legendary Japanese band’s cult second album, M.A.N., an idiosyncratic blend of epic metal and noise. Which is all to underline the relatively unique ground LUCIFUGE are travelling with Infernal Power; names such as Inepsy, Blood Spit Nights, and Kriegshog are as easily evoked as those of Exciter, Razor, and English Dogs – and of course, the almighty Warfare and especially equally early Running Wild and Onslaught UK.

The full moon is night, and all the witches are about to dance…prepare to feel LUCIFUGE’s Infernal Power!

– CD edition with sticker.

Arriving next week:
– Regular edition on black vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card and download code.
– Special edition on golden vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card, download code and patch.

DVP 180 Insane – Victims LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the highly anticipated second album of Sweden’s INSANE, Victims, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

For over a decade now, Sweden’s INSANE have inconspicuously built a catalog of dark ‘n’ dirty thrash metal worth reckoning. That they’ve gone largely unnoticed by all but diehard thrashers is a crime, and attributable more to the sheer abundance of metallic options still coming out of their homeland rather than any lack of quality. In fact, across INSANE’s two EPs, three demos, one split, one compilation, and especially 2017’s Evil debut album, one will be hard pressed to find a more strident iteration of ripping ancient thrash.

And INSANE continue sticking to their (strident, ripping) guns with their second full-length, Victims. Lyrically focused on the dark world of Swedish murderers, Victims indeed evokes a darker aspect than the already-dark Evil predecessor; the harmonic dual-guitar action sends well-timed shivers down the listener’s spine. But just like that preceding LP, here do INSANE show their mastery of epic songcraft, as the majority of the tracks again top five minutes whilst exhibiting that exhilarating rush so crucial to thrash, winding along wildly and ever so slightly touching upon more “tech” textures. If anything, the band engage and challenge in equal measure here, feeding manna to musos and rivetheads alike. Likewise, their iteration of thrash is a multilingual one, varyingly nodding to classic Canadian and German tropes and especially those that have been budding in the wider Scandinavian region more recently and also more “back in the day.”

A unique aspect to INSANE that the quartet continue on Victims is the full-bodied, almost rock ‘n’ roll-ish production: warmly analog but not faked, gritty and dirty but never belabored, and thankfully, nothing ear-piercingly overdriven like so much pizza thrash. Essentially, Victims is for those who like their thrash dank and pure and, above all, well-crafted.

If thrash as a whole has its waves of popularity/oversaturation, depending on the year, INSANE remain resolute as perpendicular maverick ready to challenge the passé and played-out. If you’re ready for their bandwagon to start rolling, become one of their Victims NOW!

– Regular edition on black vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card and download code.
– Special edition on mustard colored vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card, download code and patch.

– CD edition with sticker.

DVP 181 Bunker 66 – Beyond the Help of Prayers CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present BUNKER 66’s highly anticipated fourth album, Beyond the Help of Prayers, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Since 2007, Italy’s BUNKER 66 have been proudly (and prolifically) flying the flag of ‘80s metalpunk, all in the beloved power-trio format. Of course, the joint influence of Motörhead and Venom looms large, but equally so do homeland heroes Bulldozer, the UK’s Warfare, early Running Wild, early Bathory and Slayer, later Anti-Cimex, metal-era Gang Green, and any ‘80s recordings from Discharge and Exciter. With this robust and rust-covered foundation firmly in place, BUNKER 66 recorded a trio of cult albums for High Roller Records as well as a grip of splits with the likes of Italy’s Barbarian and Morbo, Brazil’s Whipstriker, and most recently Scotland’s Vuil. Simply put, they’re a cult band for cult fanatics – and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Now, a couple years on from that last-mentioned split with Vuil comes BUNKER 66’s long-awaited fourth album, Beyond the Help of Prayers. The band’s first full-length in four years and second with the lineup of co-founders vocalist/bassist Damien Thorne and drummer Dee Dee Altar alongside ex-Schizo guitarist J.J. Priestkiller, Beyond the Help of Prayers is a refreshing blast of old air! Right from the opening, galloping minutes of “To the Gates of Death – Lair of the Profaner,” this is 666% BUNKER 66 through and through – all those above influences, all sliced and diced with the deft touch of devotees, but always brimming with a charisma that’s undeniable – and thereafter do the hits keep on coming. But, while one could say that Beyond the Help of Prayers is business as usual for the band (and we’d still love it), the album sees BUNKER 66 taking on subtly more epic touches, ones that feel almost swords & sorcery without being obvious about it, or perhaps the post-apocalyptic wasteland vibes of Dee Dee Altar’s time in Children of Technology played a significant role? Naturally, the trio keep their noses deep within their realms of the black here, and while they’re undoubtedly dirtier and more blasphemous than ever, BUNKER 66 arguably receive their best-sounding production on Beyond the Help of Prayers, which thankfully only maximizes their power that much more.

You can’t teach old dogs new tricks, and the same be said – STUNNINGLY – for BUNKER 66, for they’re Beyond the Help of Prayers!

– CD edition with sticker.

Slight delay, waiting for the delivery date:
– Regular edition on black vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card and download code.
– Special edition on mustard colored vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card, download code and patch.

DVP-R 003 MP – Get it Now LP/CD

RELICS FROM THE CRYPT, the newly founded sub-label of DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS, is proud to present a reissue of MP’s cult-classic second album, Get It Now, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Originally released in 1987 on the short-lived Steps Records, Get It Now, was the second recorded statement of Germany’s MP. Their debut album from the year before, Bursting Out (The Beast Became Human), retained all the electricity and urgency of youth, and subsequently become a cult record for its raw verve. A year older and presumably wiser, the power-trio unleashed a more finessed follow-up in Get It Now. While the band hardly wavered in their approach between the two albums – still spanning the early hot-rockin’ throes of post-NWOBHM to the nascent rumblings of speed metal and its subsequent thrash offshoot, and of course the more mainstream stylings which lingered across all those idioms – MP here focused their songwriting into a more streamlined push ‘n’ pull that was 100% HEAVY METAL personified.

And yet, its year of release provides some (in-hindsight) context for Get It Now’s unique and underdog nature, which has thankfully made it an enduring album. Not only in Germany but across the world, traditional metal was on the decline as “hair metal” crept up the pop charts and thrash metal exploded all across the international underground – and lest we forget the first album-length rumblings of death metal. In this landscape, where subgenres started taking hold and “heavy metal” as both a term and especially a musical style & subculture became much more defined, MP doggedly defied the norms and stuck to their increasingly gleaming guns. As such, Get It Now retains a rich, metal-for-metal’s-sake balance between slick ‘n’ speeding burners and grimy fist-shakers. And while the debut album conspicuously nodded toward metal culture with “MP (Metal Priests),” here do MP continue to acknowledge that culture through the wider world’s acknowledgement of metal culture with “Rocktober Blood,” about the cult horror film of the same name. Elsewhere, the production was taken up a couple notches without losing that raw verve that so endeared the band’s debut album, arguably making Get It Now the fullest expression of MP’s true metal might.

MP continued on for one more album before changing that moniker to Melting Point, the title of their 1992 album still under the MP handle. Like many overlooked albums within the metal pantheon, Get It Now never truly got its due “back in the day,” but thankfully, it sounds surprisingly fresh today, and RELICS FROM THE CRYPT hopes this dog will have its day with this long-overdue reissue!

– Special edition on halloween orange vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card, download code and patch.

DVP 186 Karloff – The Appearing LP/CD/MC/T-Shirt

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present KARLOFF’s highly anticipated debut album, The Appearing, on CD, music cassette and vinyl LP formats.

Hailing from Germany, KARLOFF formed in 2018 as a means for erstwhile Graveyard Ghoul member Tom Horrified to blow off some punk-oriented steam with a couple close comrades. Describing their sound as “raw obscure punk turns into blackness,” it didn’t take long for the band to record their first recording, Demo ’18, but it was the following Raw Nights mini-album a year later where KARLOFF kicked into high gear. Released to widespread acclaim by DYING VICTIMS with the preceding demo tracks tacked on, Raw Nights strutted with sleazy confidence and an infectious sense of bash/crash/slash that struck deep into the heart of what makes the best of both punk and metal. But, the best was still come from KARLOFF…

At last, it arrives with their long-awaited debut album, The Appearing. If KARLOFF’s previous two short-lengths presented them as a more gutter-level Midnight, then The Appearing recasts the band in a totally new, altogether more unique light – and one that’s still brimming with that ever-special twist of olde-worlde evil. Rich and robust and ripplingly muscular, The Appearing struts like a cheetah with a heart full of napalm and flexes like nobody’s business. In fact, the lead-heavy stomp here harkens to ancient-days metalpunk like Carnivore, Best Wishes-era Cro-Mags, or even early Nasty Savage; equally, one could also point to the more modern likes of Iron Age, Shitfucker, and The Rival Mob. However, the creepiness KARLOFF hinted at earlier reaches a fever pitch across the tastefully-applied chorus FX, a subtle nod to post-punk that ably broadens the band’s reach without sacrificing their vision. More than all that, it’s the songwriting of The Appearing which renders it an intensely re-playable record: exciting, invigorating, and skillfully finding that balance between the seemingly epic and the swiftly concise.

Ghouls and ghosts, thugs and thieves: KARLOFF are calling upon you to witness The Appearing!

DVP 187 Fate’s Hand – Fate’s Hand MLP/MCD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the striking self-titled debut EP by FATE’S HAND on CD and 12” vinyl formats.

With the roar of parting waves and the call of a thousand ravens, Australian heavy metal thunders into new being, bearing the ever-ominous moniker FATE’S HAND. Reverberating opuses, wrought straight from tales lost in time but ever-present in the blood of fellow men, across the band’s self-titled debut EP does visceral melody grasp tightly on the spear of classic heavy metal, hearkening to the genre’s progenitors and in the same breath taunting, daring the very same gods. In a word, Fate’s Hand is both old and new, surprising and unsurpassed.

Perhaps not surprising is the fact that FATE’S HAND comprises various members from Australia’s esteemed extreme metal scene, such heavyweights as Mongrel’s Cross, Impetuous Ritual, and Stargazer. While the same peerless standards of quality run rampant across the band’s debut statement, this formation are their own masters, and empowered as such, FATE’S HAND deftly draw from the primordial well of Northern lore and attack in a savage foray of traditionalist heavy metal. And this is but the mere start of battles to be waged…

Expect less and your life is forfeit. FATE’S HAND draw first sword!

DVP-R 005 Breathless – Breathless LP/CD

RELICS FROM THE CRYPT, the newly founded sub-label of DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS, is proud to present a reissue of the killer self-titled debut album from Belgium’s BREATHLESS on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Hailing from Genk, Belgium’s BREATHLESS was founded in 1983 by Antonio and Dirk. Antonio already had experience as a drummer in the punk rock bands The Visions and Transylvania, and Dirk had previously played in Hammerhead. Antonio knew Stanis, brother of the guitarist and singer of The Visions, and asked him to join the band as bass player. Because many metal bands had two guitar players at the time, it was decided to look for an additional guitarist. Dirk was friends with Laky, but Laky had never held a guitar before… Friendship being one of the key values of the band, Dirk suggested to teach Laky how to play the guitar, and so he joined the band. Finally, Pascal (who was only 14 years old at that time) was brought in as singer.

The driving force of BREATHELESS was to impress, push the boundaries, deliver high-level tempo changes, and dark and angry vocals – both high and low, which was quite remarkable in the Belgian metal scene of that time. Supporting gigs of international acts followed: BREATHLESS joined Warlock, Helloween, Tyson Dog, and Axe Victims onstage.

BREATHLESS’ debut album was recorded in 10 days. Local record store Gigaswing wanted to release the album, and so the long-player Breathless was born. The LP was well received everywhere, good reviews appeared in the metal magazines, gigs followed, the fanbase expanded…and then came the decline, when the lineup quickly crumbled away…

However, what was captured on BREATHLESS’ sadly only album was pure metal magic: unhinged, unselfconscious, and unlike most of their Belgian contemporaries. Neither strictly traditional metal nor speed metal nor hard rock nor latent NWOBHM, Breathless was a blender of all the tastes of the time, and its indeed-breathless rush was sublime in its sheer energy and electricity. Take the needle of your turntable and drop it anywhere across the album and you’ll be met with raw finesse and total abandon and even exceptionally placed moments of epic quietude – simply, all-out freedom in the spirit of the mid ‘80s before metallic boundaries were firmly drawn out and laid down. Put another way, one look at the cover of Breathless and BREATHLESS’ attendant logo and you just KNOW what you’re in for!

Ridiculously rare in its original vinyl guise and never officially released on CD, BREATHLESS’ legendary lone document now arrives bearing the full RELICS FROM THE CRYPT treatment. Don your best striped spandex, raise your beers, and get Breathless!

– Regular gatefold edition on black vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card and download code.
– Special gatefold edition on olive green vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card, download code and patch.

If we are talking High Speed Metal these days, one simply HAS to talk about Vulture! The band shows quite the work ethics and delivers their already 3rd album in their relatively short career, but do not make the mistake and expect any half assed, weak material on here. Working hard on carefully evolving their overall sound and especially the individual tracks, they have managed to streamline the material to 10 even more concise and catchy speed metal hymns.

DVP 181 Bunker 66 – Beyond the Help of Prayers LP

DVP 185 Nocturnal – Serpent Death LP/CD/MC

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the long-awaited fourth album of Germany’s NOCTURNAL, Serpent Death, on CD, vinyl LP and music cassette formats.

A veritable institution, NOCTURNAL have been flying the flag of hate and inciting a riot of violence since the year 2000. Helmed by founding guitarist Avenger (whose other credits are far too vast to list here), NOCTURNAL set about their prolific course with a flurry of demo tapes and splits with the likes of Nunslaughter, Vomitor, Bestial Mockery, and Toxic Holocaust among others, all culminating in their momentous Arrival of the Carnivore debut album in 2005. Back then, hailing the old Teutonic gods of thrash – namely the “Big Three” of Sodom, Kreator, and Destruction, but not withstanding Deathrow, Assassin, Exumer, Darkness, Violent Force, and Necronomicon as well as Razor and early Sepultura abroad – was rather unfashionable, but it was NOCTURNAL who had the last laugh, as the second worldwide thrash resurgence was about to begin, and there they stood, undaunted and defiant.
Thereafter, NOCTURNAL continued to honor the old underground ways with another flurry splits and vinyl EPs, before second LP Violent Revenge arrived in 2009. Thus far, NOCTURNAL’s albums were more finely honed and better-produced expressions of those prolific UG releases, and they kept apace with that schematic through the release of their third LP, Storming Evil, in 2014. By then, lineup troubles had begun to plague the band and slow their momentum, and thereafter was all quiet on the Western front. But at long last, the ultimate revenge arrives with Serpent Death!

As aptly titled as any NOCTURNAL full-length so far, Serpent Death slithers and strikes with a venomous menace. Arguably the band’s best-produced as well as best-played record to date, Serpent Death loses not an ounce of power and poignancy; if anything, NOCTURNAL sound more energetic than ever, revitalized and ripping and defying their seemingly advanced age. Whereas the preceding Storming Evil perhaps leaned too much on the cleaner side of things, Serpent Death is robustly analog, flexing both muscle and clarity, all while remaining steadfastly analog. Further, there’s more (but subtle) twists in the songwriting and dynamics, evincing an ageless metal wisdom whilst not sacrificing any urgency in the process. Avenger, as always, is an absolute riff-machine, firing off memorable lines right and left, but he’s more-than-ably backed up by a blood-red-vital rhythm section in bassist Incinerator and drummer John Berry. New vocalist Invoker has a rougher and more hollering voice, perfectly suited for these classic metal-inclined tunes. So, less “sharp” pure thrash and more “warmer” traditional metal: it’s a trade-off that pays in spades on Serpent Death.

Timeless, eternal, both behind the times and ahead of ‘em – there’s few bands with a body of work quite like NOCTURNAL. Even if it’s another five-plus years between albums, Serpent Death handily satisfies with a sound that’s so old, it’s new!

– Regular edition on black vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card and download code.
– Special edition on red vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card, download code and patch.

DVP 188 Hellcrash – Krvcifix Invertör LP

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present HELLCRASH’s striking debut album, Krvcifix Invertör, on vinyl LP format.

A power-trio hailing from Italy, HELLCRASH have been brewing their sick & sleazy delights in the underground for nearly a decade now. A couple demos and a split saw the dark of day during the years 2013-2015, but then silence ensued until the next strike was ready to reveal its expurse of sodomy. At long last, it arrives bearing the title Krvcifix Invertör.

HELLCRASH’s long-awaited debut full-length, Krvcifix Invertör succinctly summarizes the HELLCRASH experience and then some. Crude and rude, the trio’s fixations still remain firmly entrenched in very early Slayer and Venom, but deliriously dark new sensations spring forth here, giving HELLCRASH a foreign-yet-familiar aspect that works immeasurably in their favor. Heads bang, fists pound, pelvises throb, and the dirt of the earth gets bulldozed back and forth by their extremely simple yet extremely finessed compositions. Verily, Krvcifix Invertör is the metal of old: thrash when it was called “power metal,” speed metal before thrash took over, metalpunk before that was even thought of or at least before domestic icons Bulldozer took a turn toward cleanliness, or just HEAVY METAL when that was everything that was loud and proud but not glitz and glam. Naturally, “evil” is everywhere, and so is EVIL, so wide-ranging is HELLCRASH’s landscape between filth and fun. Whatever you want to call it, Krvcifix Invertör is timeless and untrendy and TRUE!

– Regular edition on black vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card and download code.
– Special edition on red vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card, download code and patch.

DVP 193 Stress Angel – Bursting Church CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS, in conspiracy with STYGIAN BLACK HAND, is proud to present STRESS ANGEL’s striking debut album, Bursting Church. DYING VICTIMS will handle the CD version while STYGIAN BLACK HAND will handle the vinyl LP version.

Out from the flaming kingdom of death arose STRESS ANGEL in 2020 with their eponymous debut demo. There, the NYC two-piece presented six songs of thrashing death metal that is classic without being retro, and uniquely dark and demented. An auspicious first start, no doubt, and almost effortlessly so.

Now, STRESS ANGEL strike with their full-length debut, Bursting Church. Ever aptly titled, Bursting Church is indeed an archaic monument literally bursting – with feral energy, unholy passion, and RIFFS! In one sense, STRESS ANGEL here up-ratchet all of the previous demo’s foremost characteristics – contorted riffery, pitiless battery, shrill screams, and frantic execution – and retain their still-new yet firmly-etched identity. But in another, perhaps-more-accurate sense, Bursting Church presents the duo in an altogether new light, where the classic metal elements underlining that identity are recast in more crazed and idiosyncratic colors: what’s old is new, and vice versa, and anything resembling the “familiar” is ripped asunder into the realm of foreign. It’s a record equally 2021 and 1987, if you will, and the finesse and charisma with which STRESS ANGEL charge through these 11 anti-anthems is utterly addicting. Whereas previous points of reference ranged Aura Noir to Autopsy, Sweden’s Damnation to Sweden’s Obscurity, Bursting Church reveals the band in rarefied, righteously rabid company, off on their own like nomads of the wasteland. No surrender, and no compromise!

DVP 191 Blitz – The Nachtmahr Sessions MC
DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the awesome The Nachtmahr Sessions debut Demo by BLITZ on music cassette format.

Rising from the ashes of recently defunct MIDNIGHT PREY and AGGREGATOR, this new Hamburg-based four-piece BLITZ has combined their different influences and forged their very own blend of Heavy Metal, Speed and Thrash Metal. Big melodies, high velocity, varied vocals and tastefully applied gang shouts merge into strong and concise material.

Despite this being their first sign of life, the band entered renowned Soundlodge Studio and laid down the three powerful tracks on The Nachtmahr Sessions that show that there is a lot to be expected from BLITZ!
