also nochmal: mir war das ganz und gar nicht bekannt, wahrscheinlich war ich auch der einzigste der das nicht gewusst hat?!

Einer hier vom Forum hat mich vor 3/4 tagen aufmerksam gemacht das Rich in sein? Miskatonic Forum seine zweifel geäussert hat ob ich von MFF überhaupt finanzielle ressourcen habe, den Solstice Gig zu finanzieren, gleich danach schrieb ich das ich gerne wusste warum er daran zweifelt in das in einem öffentlichen (oder nicht öffentlichen) forum - anstatt mich direkt mit mir zu sprechen.

Als ich fragte warum er zweifelt, schrieb er mir, dass eben ein bandmitglied in Kanada wohnt und er zweifelt dass ich für flüge etc aufkommen könne.

Ab da an hab ich es gewusst und nicht vorher.. Ihr alle habt sicher eure Kontakte und wissen oder wussten schon sehr viel früher als ich was läuft und so abgeht - schön für euch, aber schlecht für mich bei dieser sache.

Hätte ich es früher gewusst hätte ich anders geplant. Wie gesagt auf Solstice hab mich echt gefreut aber es sollte halt einfach nicht sein und das tut mir auch erstmal als erster leid.

Hab mich vielleicht auch blöd ausgedrückt - aber nicht alle sind deutsch geboren haha, soll aber keine ausrede sein - klar.
Wenn Solstice will sind die kleinen MFF Türchen immer offen - wenn nicht gibt es andere die auf Solstice warten und sie öffnen - da bin ich mir sicher!

Gut gesagt, finde es amüsant die Diskussion hier zu lesen. Was ich jedoch nicht so ganz nachvollziehen kann, dass man sich öffentlich über Themen austauscht, die man intern lösen müsste (Rich/Daniele) und dann finde ich es schon sehr unklug, wenn man sich als Veranstalter (dein Engagement in allen Ehren) über potentielle Konzertbesucher herablasend äußert.

@ Daniele:

1.) Leute im Forum als 'möchtegern metalfans' beschimpfen und dann keine Ahnung über die Besetzung einer Band zu haben, die man auf seinem Festival auftreten lässt, ist zumindest am Rande zur Peinlichkeit.

2.) Was die Flugkosten aus Kanada betrifft. Hättest Du Dich ernsthaft mit dem Thema beschäftigt und ne Minute investiert, hättest Du auch Flüge aus Kanada gefunden (ja auch aus Victoria), die auch ohne Sonderkonditionen maximal 800 Euro kosten, womit mit dem Flug aus Wales auch ohne Unterstützung durch die Band nur die Hälfte Deiner veranschlagten Flugkosten angefallen wären.

3.) aus Deinen Antworten lese ich, dass Du wohl etwas gefrustet bist, was dein Festival betrifft. Erwartest Du dafür mehr Würdigung von Außenstehenden? Für was machst Du das ganze? Für Dich, weil Du Spaß daran hast oder weil Du Dir dadurch erhoffst, dass Dir die Leute - bildlich gesprochen - dafür die Füsse küssen........

Again, there was no argument, just a point of opinion, we weren't angry at not playing, but we felt that Daniele's opinion about people not showing up if we didn't play and his representation of the actual facts as to why were were not playing left a little to be desired, they seemed to be in whole blaming the band.

Real Facts - I have waited and worked hard to piece together a like minded line up of dedicated musicians, turned down many offers over the past years to play, it would be easy to be like all the other bands to become a tribute act only playing old songs and never looking ahead. Yes, we do not rehearse weekly, we rehearse once a month, for two days, solid, no breaks 12 hours at a time. The band are competant musicians, no amateur bullshit. We have no other choice to rehearse this way because of the distances between us geographically.

It's no surprise that our "social calendar" is not full, after all, we're a bunch of losers and outright oddballs, no denying it at all, we're also a small band from the North of England with no backers either, just our own initiative and dedication. We don't expect to be handed anything on a silver platter, rather we mostly expect to be kicked in the bollocks every time.

And, sadly when I awoke this morning I Found emails "threatening me with legal action" and, worse ASOMVEL and THE LAMP OF THOTH are now kicked off the billing too. Bullshit. Absolute bullshit.

All this because I expressed an opinion that counters Daniele's? Well, this is my last post on the matter, I think I'm pretty tired over the last 20 years of scene Hitler's who think they can tell me what is "professional" when they have online tantrums like a small child. Two words spring to my mind right now.
