Revelation sign with Roadrunner Records
from Blabbermouth:
Maryland Doomsters Revelation (whom older readers might remember from the striking "DOOM" sticker on their early releases) have inked an exclusive deal with Roadrunner Records, as of easter sunday 2013. The deal will see the entire Revelation back catalogue revamped, including powerful remastering by swede production maestro Peter TĂ€gtgren of Amon Amarth and Dimmu Borgir fame: "As a long-serving Revelation fan, I was never happy with the dynamic manner in which their releases are mixed and mastered, and I am ecstatic at finally having the opportunity to compress the s**t out of them, pardon my language. You can expect the first pair of really loud Revelation albums to hit all good retailers this summer", said TĂ€gtgren in a long Facebook post.
"The deal was in the cards for a few months now, but it took some time to work out some minor details such as proper distribution of their material on 78rpm 10" vinyl and reel-to-reel tape", said a source close to the band who asked to remain anonymous.
As part of the deal with Roadrunner, Revelation will support Rush on their "30th Anniversary of Grace Under Pressure" tour in 2014, allowing passionate Rush fan and Revelation head honcho John Brenner to enjoy some prime Rush material on a nightly basis, for a total of three months. "Grace Under Pressure is where Rush really took off for me, says Brenner, so I'm happy that I will finally see them perform it in its entirety, as most Rush fans are, I'm sure!".
