ICED EARTHs neue EP + Album

@Negatron: von woher hat Schaffer deiner Meinung nach denn genau die 'Recycleriffs' in Waterloo? Wohl nicht aus dem ABBA-Song. Eine auch nur ansatzweise ähnliche Nummer gibt es im ganzen IE-Katalog nicht.

Das war nicht speziell auf diesen Song gemünzt, ich hab den gar nicht mehr im Kopf. Mir ging es einfach generell beim Hören der Platte so, dass mich vieles an vorige Stücke von IE erinnert hat. Das trifft natürlich nicht auf jedes Riff und jeden Song zu, aber ich hatte dieses Gefühl halt sehr oft.

Barlow wird meiner Meinung nach als Sänger überschätzt. Finde ihn nur den drittbesten Iced Earth-Frontman.

Ist halt auch wieder Geschmackssache. Für mich war er klar einer der besten der ganzen Szene.

Nicht zu vergessen, daß der Ripper hier mit wirklich grandiosem Gesang glänzt. Mit dem falschen Sänger könnte ein Song mit tendenziell trockener Thematik wie dieser sehr leicht abstinken.

Ripper ist klar der technisch beste IE-Sänger, aber was bringt mir technische Perfektion wenn mich der Mann (im Gegensatz zu Barlow) auf Gefühlsebene nicht erreicht? Das hatten wir doch schon x-mal (Riot aufm KIT, die Crescent Shield-Scheibe usw.)...*gähn*.
Aber ich bin eh nie sonderlich traurig über schlechte Neuveröffentlichungen von älteren Bands. Dann hör´ ich eben das alte Zeug und fertig.

Ich habe die TGB gerade nochmal durchgehört und kann wieder nur mein Unverständnis zur Kritik ausdrücken...

Musikalisch gesehen (lässt man den Gesang weg) ist TGB ein 100%tiges IE-Album. Gut man wurde etwas pompöser, aber wenigstens gibt es noch Druck und Gitarren auf dem Album (anders als bei "The Furunkel Am Arsch Of Odin von -ähm- wie hieß die Band gleich).Meiner Meinung nach gewinnt die Platte bei jedem Hördurchgang - auch heute noch. Der Gesang des Ripper bewegt sich auf allerhöchstem Niveau, so dass ich diese Platte unter die Top 5 "Gottgleicher Gesang" stellen möchte.
Gut teilweise sagt die Thematik der Song uns Europäern nicht so zu - ich persönlich finde es auch fragwürdig ein Metalalbum mit "The Star Sprangeld Banner" zu eröffnen. Aber das ist auch die einzige Kritik, die ich an "The Glorious Burden" verstehen kann. Zu erwähnen ist dass ich die Limited habe, wo die nachfolgend veröffentlichte EP gleich dabei war - deswegen trenne ich diese beiden Veröffentlichungen auch nicht.

Warum sind eigentlich alle Iced Earth Alben immer noch so teuer? Selbst die Rerealeses kosten ~ 14€.

Nur Glorious Burden ist billiger, aber das will ja keiner. Naja selbst schuld dann kauf ich halt nix.

Einfache BWL - Solange ich Produkt A für Preis B verkaufen kann tue ich dies, erst wenn sich das Produkt nicht mehr zu Preis B verkauft muss ich aktiv werden - Möglichkeiten: Preissenkung, Desingveränderung, Update (in dem Fall Bonussongs), etc.

Zu der Intense. Ja die finde ich sehr gut. Und lässt den Spirit von Iced Earth ganz gut aufleben ohne extrem zu kopieren.

Ansonsten bin ich auch mehr Liebhaber der älteren Iced Earth Scheiben. Und bevorzuge auch Dark Saga klar vor SWTWC.

Und Glorious Burden habe ich wohl in einer anderen Auflage damals bekommen. Ich höre immer wieder das wären 2 CDs gewesen. In meiner Auflage gibt es die Songs auf einer CD.
